Target wanted to provide an owned brand offering to the coffee connoisseur, so COLLINS in New York was hired to create the identity. Designer Luke Hunt and I applied that identity to flavored and unflavored coffees in pouches and single serve boxes. We also hired and art directed three unique, outstanding illustrators.

I worked with the great Ross Bruggink to bring single serve espresso pods to the Archer Farms brand. Utilizing the established coffee toolkit, Ross and I created packaging that helped the guest differentiate between various pour sizes and flavor intensities, in an upscale presentation.

Identity and cover and book design for Black Rabbit Books, a publisher committed to helping reluctant readers, age 6-10, discover books. The first imprint, BOLT books, provided topics of special interest to young readers. With the success of BOLT, a new imprint, BOLT JR., was launched to attract readers 4-6 years old.
Cover and book design and layout for a book about seminal 60s rockers the Doors. The cover featured a half-tone printed over metallic silver foil, with a diecut that revealed a psychedelic portrait of the Lizard King. For Quarto Publishing Group.

Project 62 provides the Target guest with an opportunity to own furnishings and home accessories with the Mid-century Modern aesthetic. Partners and Spade in New York created the identity; I applied the identity to 1000 SKUs, as well as creating icons, refining color palettes, and providing product illustration.

Being a Vikings fan as a kid, I always thought of the Lions as a tough but hapless opponent. Little did I know then that they won three NFL titles in the days of Bobby Layne and Doak Walker. This was a really fun project for author Richard Bak and the Wayne State University Press.
